By the time I was 13, however, I was ready for a more serious .. I had been practicing every day for well over a year, and even before that I was playing fairly regularly. I was looking at drum kits with my parents, but they were a little bit hesitant to actually buy one for me. The drum kit that I had was so loud, after all, and a real drum set would be even louder. Then we lit on the solution. If I bought some drum practice pads to go along with the drum kit, I could play a quietly whenever I had to you. A practice pad is basically a glorified sheet of rubber. You can hit it with drumsticks and It has a very similar feel to an actual drum. Unlike a drum, however, it doesn’t make a lot of noise.

Think about it.  Darth Vader is powerful, evil, and a master of the force.  The only character in the entire universe that was more powerful than Darth Vader, in fact, is the Emperor. But the fact is, in my opinion, that Darth Vader still has it over the Emperor.  After all, a Darth Vader costume is much cooler than an emperor costume.  All that the Emperor wears, after all, is a robe and white makeup.

One thing that children struggle with when they are first using a computer is finding all the letter keys. Qwerty keyboards might seem difficult for them at this stage, but it’s actually an advantage. If a child learns straight away on a qwerty keyboard they’ll have that skill for life. It’s especially fun to help them learn how to spell their name using the keyboard. Be certain that you verbally express each letter in the child’s name as you are teaching them to type it. This really helps with letter recognition and reading skills once the child starts school.

Of course, one of my favorite Winnie the Pooh toys was the video game. I don’t remember exactly what it was called, but you had to help all the characters solve puzzles in the Hundred Acre Woods. What was so cool about it was that it provided a fun way to use the computer for educational means. There has been a lot of buzz about educational programs, but I haven’t seen many work quite as well as the Winnie the Pooh game. It really got me to think about problem solving skills, and that is an important ability to develop as a kid.

I spent all weekend helping my mom clean out her house. She’s something of a pack rat (to put it mildly), so there was quite a lot of junk to go through in her basement. As we were cleaning, I found an old box of toys that my sister and I played with when we were younger. I almost tossed it with the rest of the trash, but have seen too many episodes of “Antiques Roadshow” to actually follow through. Instead, I brought the box home with me to see if there was anything of value in there.

When I was a kid, I thought toy dinosaurs were the best. I was never interested in dinosaur toys until we went to the natural history Museum. We lived in a small town outside of Chicago, so going to the Chicago Museum of Natural History was a big excursion for us. We actually spent a weekend in town, going to several museums. I was young at the time, but I still remember the dinosaur exhibit vividly. It was one of the most impressive things I had ever seen. There is something about dinosaurs that really makes an impression on the kid. Seeing those giant skeletons towering above you is like nothing else in the world.

If you want to get a truly great assortment of brainteasers, you have to go to a good bookstore. There are plenty of online brainteasers, but if you are a big fan you probably need to just bite the bullet and buy a book. After all, it is nice to have a whole book filled with logic puzzles so that you can go through them, page after page at your leisure. The way that I do it is to download some free puzzles on the Internet to see which ones I like. Then, when I find a style that fits me, I buy a brain teaser book. I usually have two or three for a long road trip.

Now that I’m shopping for presents for my own kids, I’m surprised to see that the Sesame Street toys have stayed remarkably the same over the years. They have hardly changed at all since I was very young. Nowadays, there are more Sesame Street Elmo toys, and some of the other playthings are more high-tech than they used to be. Nonetheless, the basic ideas are almost the same. As a matter of fact, I wish I still had my old toys from on I was a kid. I bet they would love playing with those.

My dad had really been working a lot on the train sets that weekend, and I had been helping him. He had built a whole additional loop of track, and it was looking pretty good. He was gone, and I wanted to show off his model trains to my friend. Although it would not have been against the rules just to go down and look at them, one thing led to another and soon we were playing. Somehow, we decided that it would be neat to add more train tracks. Unfortunately, we were clumsy little kids. We broke some of his miniatures. I was worried that my dad would kill me! When he got home, I told him the truth. Although he was angry at me and sent me to my room for a while, later he came up. He told me that he was proud of me for being so honest, even though I had disobeyed him.

In the end, I decided to keep the antique pool table. I would simply have to watch it carefully. From then on, I did not drink with my friends in my house. I knew that once the drinks started flowing, I could not stop something from happening to the antique pool table. I would, however, invite my friends over to my house in the afternoon sometimes for a game or two of 8-ball. They thought that I was being unreasonable by refusing to play host for evening soirÈes, but I knew that I had to do what I had to do. It was the only way for me to take care of that antique pool table.

My very favorite toy soldier models were called “Knights of the Sword”. They were medieval toy soldiers, and they were absolutely spectacular. Although they were made of plastic, they were some of the most dramatic and well-designed soldier toys I have ever seen to this day. They were all in these great poses.  They would have their sword arms ready to swing, the shields raised fiercely in front of them, and their standards blowing in the breeze.

I first got into role playing games back in the 1980′s when the Dungeons & Dragons craze took the country by storm. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on role playing games and like nothing better than to spend time battling it out with my friends in a heated session. Fortunately for us, role playing games have come a long way since those D&D days. Now we have so many options to choose from that we can hardly ever come to an agreement over which game to actually play. But in reality, that’s a good thing for us, which is why we continue to try out new game titles whenever possible. There are a couple of different ways that we go about finding new role playing games to try. First, we always search online to check out the latest titles. Most software companies now make their demo versions of their new releases available as a free download. This is a great way for my friends and I to test out the hottest role playing games without having to shell out any money first.

There are New Toys coming out all the time.

When new toys come out on the market, they are often advertised heavily. If it is an especially unique toy, parents may go out in droves to pick it up for their kids. My daughter had her heart set on the V-smile learning system last Christmas, and because it is an educational toy, I decided it would be a good investment. There are lots of great websites where we can play online games for free.  I formerly used many of them, then narrowed the selection (and lessened the time spent to play online games) to three, then got hooked on one in particular. Boxerjam.com has unique games, really.  This makes sense, as Boxerjam was one of the first places where web users could play online games.  In the early eighties I recall being introduced to the internet by way of the Prodigy browser/ISP and with my surfing lessons came the blast of blasts—“Strike a Match”.  I then graduated to “Know-it-all” and “Mindstein”.
