Hey - I’m with the band! Guitar Hero III for Playstation 3 may do for Sony what the Wii did for Nintendo. It’s allowing the whole family to use the PS3 console which was originally marketed for males between the ages of 15 and 40. Oh, and anyone that had $499.
Anyway, Guitar Hero III for Playstation 3 allows you the drop your air guitar and pickup up a wireless guitar and rock out. The playlist includes Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Muse and Pearl Jam. So turn on your TV, do some finger exercises and get ready to thrash, dude!

If you’ve never tuned your guitar using an electronic tuner, you’re in for a treat. Unless you have very good ears, it’s almost impossible to tune up perfectly. With a tuner, however, the tool does the listening for you. This can be disconcerting for someone who has tuned up by listening for many years, but you really can trust that little needle to point you to the right tuning. Tuners can be purchased for as little as $15 or $20, and are a great investment. There is one caution, though. Some tuners might not be accurate when the batteries are getting weak.

I recently got my first guitar - a Fender Squire – which is a beginner guitar, apparently infamous for it’s lack of quality.
From that auspicious beginning, I set out immediately to get a beginner guitar lesson. Naturally, I began my search on the Internet, where such services can be had for free, and immediately Googled a pile of beginner guitar lesson sites.
A good idea but not much good. I’ve never played a musical instrument before, and after watching a small image of some goateed dude strumming on his axe beside a diagram showing little numbers in circles which was supposed to somehow explain what he was doing, I confess I was no closer to knowing how.
