Vintage Video Games are Back

Just think, at one time computers were really not popular except in education or scientific work. In the 70’s when computer video games appeared no one thought they would become what they are today. What was the rage at one time like pac man or even pong which is considered a vintage video game now slowly faded into the sunset of game world.

As computers got faster and faster, the games got more intense but still the old games have a way of taking you back to the enjoyment that they always had. It’s kinda like revisiting the past. There a lot of places online like video game museums and such that are very interesting.

Also video game emulator sites are the latest rage and getting more popular for those with out the original software. I guess it’s what goes around comes around!

80s arcade games still in the arena of video gaming.

Even if programming techniques, controls, graphics and premises have progressed almost superfluously since then, 80s arcade games still continue to have a place in the arena of video gaming after breaking ground and paving the way for modern gaming innovation.

In general, the 80s saw a huge boom in the popularity and use of electronics. Initially, the video gaming industry experienced a crash as it struggled to compete with personal computer use.

At the beginning of the 80s decade, video games weren’t yet advanced enough in technology or appeal to compete with computers, but the introduction of the Nintendo Entertainment System got video gaming back onto its feet and by the end of the 80s it was thriving.

Online Games at TOPS

I can not understand this obsession that my sister has with online card games. It seems that playing card games online, much of the thrill of the normal game would disappear, but she seems to like nothing better. It started as a casual hobby, but has quickly become a life destroying, time sucking obsession, from which there is no escape at all. Every morning, she plays online card games. Every evening she plays more online card games. At first is was just a simple game of hearts now again, but now it encompasses everything from bridge to go fish, to some of these new fangled trading card games like Magic the Gathering. I swear, she even has online card game message groups which she subscribes to to get the latest online card game news. How could online card games even have news – I mean, what new could happen. Did someone discover a magical fourteenth card in the suit?

Me, personally, I can not stand the online card games which seem to bring my dear sister such pleasure in her life. I can not even see the point of these online card games. I mean for me, playing card has always been about the social aspect of the thing. You get together with friends, have a few drinks, deal a few hands, and maybe place down some small wagers. It does not cost more than a night out with the buddies, and usually it costs less, and it is just a great way to hang out with the friends and catch up on what is new in each others lives. But with these online card games – I don’t know. It just seems so distant, and you are playing with strangers. And “LOL” is just no substitute for the real sound of your friends laughter as the hand is finished and another one is dealt.

I think that the internet has many good things about it, but I think that in some ways it has also robbed us of some of our meaningful social connections. I mean, people play card games online, football games online – they even practice dating online. It is great to be able to exchange information at about the speed of light, but life is not just about exchanging information. It is about connecting with people, having time to talk and play and laugh. And you simply can not do that online.

Although a “FUN” pinball game is what every home game room or rec room needs, you must consider a couple of things.

See the Future on the Virtual Reality Headset

Strangely enough, however, that never materialized and VR headsets vanished for a while. I think it was because of an inherent flaw in the virtual reality headset technology at the time. It was good by for the time, but by it was still kind of boxy. Virtual reality headsets required so much processing power to calculate the three-dimensional world around you that the graphics were often pretty rudimentary. Movement could be slow and awkward, and virtual reality games had nothing but a little bit of novelty going for them.

Looking for an Online Fighting Game?

Of course, the most important factor in choosing an online fighting game is playability. No matter how cool the scenario, how nice the graphics, and how intense the the competition, a game with poor playability is not going to be that exciting in the long run. A good game will have intelligent opponents, sophisticated arcade controls, and realistic movement. If your game doesn’t have all of these, it will probably wear thin for you pretty soon.

Missouri tourism guide advertises biggest game ever

There is a group of gamers that want to stage the largest networked game of Stomp the Monsters ever held to get into the Guinness book of world records. They already have the event published in a list of Missouri tourism events that has copies in all the rest stops and welcome centers across the state. They are hoping to attract at least a thousand gamers from across the nations and all that they are asking you to bring is your computer with a network card of some type installed. The plan is to play two versions of the game when the maximum number of people are online. The first version will be team sports with fifty teams of twenty players each. The second version is going to be an every man for himself game. The winners of the team event are all going to receive a copy of the game with full access to all updates and future releases and the winner of the single event will receive that plus a fully loaded up to date system to play it on. The sponsors are hoping to preregister as many people as soon as possible so that they can plan the layout of the network.

Playing network games

There is a guide put out by the south central Iowa tourism board that actually lists the places where there are game clubs and there are many of them around. Apparently there are clubs where everyone brings their own computers and they hook them all together in one network to play online games. Usually the separate into different groups and the groups play against each other. One that I saw had four five man teams and they were running around (in the game) and destroying each other. The rules don’t allow for any kind of an invincible mode, so anyone can kill anyone. Usually after you are killed you have a certain amount of time and then you are resurrected. Of course you are in the same place where you died and your group has moved on so the number one priority is to find your group and develop any intelligence along the way to help. There is radio communication so you can call your buddies to help you find your way or to deliver the information that you have developed. If the airwaves are dead you are in trouble as that means everyone in your squad is dead, at that point there is no resurrection, you lost.

Hey! I’m in a Frenzy! A Fruit Frenzy…

This is an article about a great new game - Fruit Frenzy!

If you like matching games, Fruit Frenzy is a terrific place to test your skills. The game is very challenging and you’ll be required to move certain pieces from the board before you can move on to the next level. This sounds easy, but add in a timer and you’ve got the recipe for fun.

In order to move the ice cubes off of the board, you’ll need to match up at least three pieces of fruit in a row. They can be matched in rows or in columns. You’ll have to move the fruit strategically to get rid of as many ice cubes as you can. While you are doing this, the timer keeps ticking and it gets harder and harder to find your matches.

There are some occasions when even after scouring the web you will have no choice but to either pay full price or wait for the computer software games industry to drop the RRP, (Recommended Retail Price). However, in most cases there is always something you can do to hammer down the cost and get it cheaper than everyone else and it’s such a great feeling when you see your friends faces after they find out how much you paid!First of all, it is now becoming more popular to download games direct without paying for the packaging. In the past, this only worked with PC software. You would simply go to a download site. Pay the reduced price and receive your game instantly from a download link. No driving, no finding a parking space, and no que’s! However, as games consoles become more sophisticated and have increased memory either in the form of a hard-drive or memory cards or have the ability to link to a PC, this function is slowly appearing on more and more formats. The PSP, (Playstation Portable) is a prime example of this. Because of it’s ability to link with a PC you can download PSP games directly to your PC and then play them on your PSP. This is fantastic. The popularity of Atari lasted for many years. However, with the introduction of a more realistic gaming system today, Atari became a relic. The Super Nintendo controller

I loved it! The Super Nintendo Entertainment System really blew me away when if first came out back in the early 1990s.  The first Nintendo Entertainment System was amazing and groundbreaking in itself, but when the SNES came out it was really the dawn of the modern era of video games for me.  The Sega Genesis and the Turbo Grafix 16 were already out, so the SNES was a fairly late arrival to the third generation of video game consoles, but it was worth the wait.  Of the third generation consoles, the SNES was my favorite and I owned all of them…

The 80s Arcade Games Pioneered Modern Computer Games

An article about 80s arcade games

I feel happy to have had  the experience of playing the 80s arcade games that pioneered the way for the home computer and hand-held games.

The 80s Arcade Games

Those 80s Arcade Games were the only place for under 21-year-olds and the only activity center, really, save the malls. And since we were not the mall-dog types, we took rolls of quarters and devoted our after-school time to the arcades. This made me remember the old commercials from when I was a kid, so I told him about how Peggy Fleming would attach a Bic pen to her skate blade and skate around the ice with it; then, the advertisers would write with it, to show how it still held up.

80s Arcade Games are here again

80s Arcade Games are Here Again

“Arcade Games Here”, “Arcade Games Free”, “Free Arcade Games”… remember those neon signs, and how we sneaked out of the house each time Mom or Dad was busy with their own concerns and would not tail on us? Sure, we remember back in those days when we used to hit up the local arcade for a little R and R when R&R was still defined by video arcade games?

Yeah, those Pac Man machines were the bomb back then. Of course, that was when a video game would cost you a mere quarter. Not any more. Try a dollar to play one measly arcade game. Bring back the classic 80s arcade games. At least we all could afford them.

Casino Affiliate Programs

Article about casino affiliate programs:

To say that the online gambling industry is huge would be a gross understatement. Gaming websites aren’t heavily regulated, so it’s difficult to give an exact number; but conservative estimates put annual revenues into the billions of dollars. If you could get your hands on just a fraction of that, you would have some serious money. And that’s precisely what casino affiliate programs allow you to do… Find out more at Casino Affiliate Programs

An article about Video Games.

The end of the 1970’s also saw the beginning of the home-based console video game systems. Video game consoles are computers designed solely for the purpose of gaming, and usually connect to a television for the video display.
