I can not understand this obsession that my sister has with online card games. It seems that playing card games online, much of the thrill of the normal game would disappear, but she seems to like nothing better. It started as a casual hobby, but has quickly become a life destroying, time sucking obsession, from which there is no escape at all. Every morning, she plays online card games. Every evening she plays more online card games. At first is was just a simple game of hearts now again, but now it encompasses everything from bridge to go fish, to some of these new fangled trading card games like Magic the Gathering. I swear, she even has online card game message groups which she subscribes to to get the latest online card game news. How could online card games even have news – I mean, what new could happen. Did someone discover a magical fourteenth card in the suit?

Me, personally, I can not stand the online card games which seem to bring my dear sister such pleasure in her life. I can not even see the point of these online card games. I mean for me, playing card has always been about the social aspect of the thing. You get together with friends, have a few drinks, deal a few hands, and maybe place down some small wagers. It does not cost more than a night out with the buddies, and usually it costs less, and it is just a great way to hang out with the friends and catch up on what is new in each others lives. But with these online card games – I don’t know. It just seems so distant, and you are playing with strangers. And “LOL” is just no substitute for the real sound of your friends laughter as the hand is finished and another one is dealt.

I think that the internet has many good things about it, but I think that in some ways it has also robbed us of some of our meaningful social connections. I mean, people play card games online, football games online – they even practice dating online. It is great to be able to exchange information at about the speed of light, but life is not just about exchanging information. It is about connecting with people, having time to talk and play and laugh. And you simply can not do that online.

These skulls are generally placed out of the way so that gamers have to look around in different levels to be able to find them. This however does tend to lead to frustration for many gamers who have no idea where to look. For those gamers, there are many different walkthroughs available for them all over the internet to help them obtain these skulls.

In order for a gamer to obtain any of the Halo 3 skulls, they have to begin their level from the beginning and be playing on Normal difficulty or higher. Once a Halo 3 Skull has been obtained the gamer can then save and quit the level, they don’t actually have to finish it. This however is not the case with the IWHBYD skulls.

Four years later came the highly anticipated sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, which was called Halo 2. The Iowa travel guide lists several gaming spots within the state and there are more coming all the time. There are currently several requests for new casinos to be built in different locations within the state, but the question seems to be just how many of these we can handle. I can be at no less than three casinos in under an hour from my location and there is another under consideration. This all started with the Indians and then the government found out how much money they could make allowing private enterprises build them. No one ever looked at the harmful parts of the enterprise. No one even thought of anything like a gambling addiction or the people who gamble away the rent check and grocery money. No one talked about the fact that a casino actually subtracts from the economy rather than adds to it. Of course this was all swept under the rug because politicians could charge very high rates and thus they could have more money to spend on any pet project they have in mind. Greed seems to be the biggest factor in deciding weather or not to all another establishment or not. At least that is my view

I do a lot of southern Illinois travel and really enjoy playing travel games along the way. There is the ever popular game of “I Spy with my Eye” and of course there is travel bingo, although that one is almost impossible for the driver to play. I also like to see how many different counties I can find on different license plates and even how many different states there are. Speaking of license plates, have you ever tried to decode some of those personalized plates only to find that you couldn’t and then you never get the chance to find out what they really mean to say? Another game is the alphabet game where you try and spot something that starts with an A and then a B and then a C and so on. I guess my love of car games actually started at a young age. My folks used to take us on vacation a lot and back in those days the car was the only way to get there. Gas prices were low and only the “affluent”  could afford air line tickets. Most of the time traveling by car can be quicker than airlines anyway. I once drove from Des Moines, Iowa to Bolder, Colorado in less time that it a friend of mine to fly there. With the layovers and the delays and the storms, just plunking along the highway beat the airplane there by two hours.

Trying my first online multiplayer game, I was a little bit apprehensive to stay the least. I was no stranger to online games, having wasted dozens of hours of my precious youth playing clones of old arcade classics that I had grown up with. This online game, however, was different. Of course, I had played multiplayer role-playing games before in college. We would meet in a dark dorm room in the basement, swill beer and soda pop, each chips, and pretend to be heroes and wizards from long ago. I know it sounds geeky, and it was, but it was also a lot of fun. Nevertheless, I had figured that those days were over and done with. Who has time for role-playing games in this day and age? Are there still people who play these games into their 30s and 40s? Apparently there are, but they all play them on the Internet.

This was no World of Warcraft online. Instead, it was a free online game, a multiplayer one with thousands of accounts all over the world. It sounded okay to begin with. It was a science fiction setting. The online game took place in the standard dystopian future, where the Earth’s government had become fascist and tensions between humans and a dozen or so alien races that had emigrated were at an all-time high. Unlike many of the online games out there, this one had no graphics. I chose that on purpose. Although graphics free online gaming has become rarer and rarer, I still prefer it, as do many old-school role-playing fans. The lack of graphics and arcade action mean that your imagination has to play a much greater role in the online universe. That suited me just fine!

As it turns out, I loved the online game – much more than I should have, in fact. I had feared that I would develop a new addiction, but I rationalized that I was too old to spend that much time gaming. Apparently, I was wrong. In the weeks and months after I started playing that game online, I wasted probably hundreds of hours at it. For a while, the online game was my biggest obsession.

The “grade” of a spell acts as a modifier to your effective level, for casting purposes. There are four grades to each catagory (Apprentice, Adept, and Master) but not all of them are in the game yet. If you have the Apprentice I version in your Book, you can scribe any better versions you acquire. There are no level prerequisites for upgrades.

I don’t have the patience for crafting, and often i find myself able to level faster without groups due to the fact that I can solo yellows with ease.

I found that in the Thundering Steppes, I can make nearly 1 gold an hour, and while gaining exp. Nice way to waste your time.

Basically, you’ll want to solo beetles, birds, snakes, and deer. These are easy mobs to solo. Please note you should be at least level 20.
The trick to the money is the drops. I get chests in that area very frequently. Chestguards, wristguards, shields, all selling for 15-20sp at your favorite npc merchant.

If you are either part of Queynos or Freeport and need to conduct business in the other area this tutorial will show you the way. I wrote this tutorial because I needed to meet someone in Antonica and did not know the way I was also only level 13. It took me longer than necessary and I died a couple of times, all as a result of not knowing the way. Any level character can make this journey so long as they are careful however it is very dangerous. Knowing the way certainly helps also being level 20 is also a big help! Red on the maps shows the route you take by foot and Blue is the Griffon Flight.

I was dorking around with making Adept 3’s last night, only at level 14 Scholar so for me a Ward of Spirits is white(even). After making the hella expensive suzuri ink to scribe the scroll i procede to the table and began. To my dismay, the progress bar wouldn’t move at all. I just continued to lose quality, and when I would gain some, it would drop right back off. Naturally I started spamming trade skills, and as I did, watched my scribing skill go up 3 times in 30 seconds. After the smoke was cleared, I was unable to scribe the scroll.

Ok before I get started let me say this is for mages and priest but i am sure scouts and fighters can do this as well but i have not tried this with them. Another thing is that this is with a basic character no spell upgrades. You do need to be lvl 6 to do this but you can start at lvl 5.

Ok with that being said, what you are looking for are two creatures, the Gaint Spiders and Gruttoth Hunters at level 6 they should be green and they spawn so fast that you pretty much kill them non stop having to rest every 20 minutes to refill your power bar but there is pretty much no chance of death here.

Try searching the broker at lvl 10 for soapweed and buy it in bulk, It sells for about 2cp+.. Then purchase your common (aerated mineral water) and Candles and craft away the night either at the keyboard manually or macro… whatever you prefer.. have yet to macro overnight making soapweed emulsion at lvl 10.. Just thought i would throw that out there for everyone who might be in need of a easier grind to lvl crafting..

There’s been a lot of talk about warriors not knowing how to tank, so this is my take on how to tank in an instance. All constructive criticism is welcome, all flames will be replied to with a “well write your own guide then” so save both of us some time and don’t bother.

I’ll be thinking mainly about 5 man instance groups, although a lot is still more than relevant in the raid instances, what you learn at low level will see you through to molten core with ease.

So early on Saturday and Sunday I was working hard for exhalted in AV and starting the long road to AB/WSG faction so I signed up for every battle ground then chose the one I wanted.

Of course I immediatley hopped into AV when it opened. Imagine my disappointment when the message “This battleground will close in 5 minutes came up”. The 6 or 8 of us in AV quickly ran north to get the SH bunker, hoping more would join. Alas, the game ended and then I got the same reward I would have gotten if we would have lost: 125 faction for paying, 12 (maybe 6) per battleground and a token.
