Learning Games For Kids
My son hates to read. He hates it with a passion and I’ve yet to find a book or magazine that interests him enough to want to read it. But video games? Watch out - he’ll be busy for hours! Of course, most video games have little to no value when it comes to learning but many learning games for kids take on a video game type of format that children love. My son has recently found some role playing games that have helped him with his reading. He doesn’t even realize that he is practicing his reading skills - and reading at a level that his teachers have likely never even considered him capable of - as he reads the instructions that enable him to get to the next level. Role playing games for children involve reading skills to figure out how to achieve tasks, math skills as they buy items in stores, and reasoning skills as they determine the best way to reach their goals.
